Poor Service/Bad Food
Reviewed by Lariza on 18-12-2007 (Toronto) |
| Went to eat on 12/18/07 with 6 of my co-workers. We only have an hour lunch so we made sure we have a reservation. Arrived at Akco Lounge five minutes before 1:00 pm. We were told to wait since they don’t have any available table yet. Five minutes after 1:00 and we still don’t have a table. We asked for the manager (a lady manager by the name of Irene Choi Hickman) and she told us that she had a table for us and the people are in the process of paying their bill. Meanwhile, people without reservation are being seated inside the restaurant. Ten after 1:00 and still no table for us. Talked to the manager who then told us that they’re still waiting for the other table to be vacated. Finally, we got ourselves a table after suggesting to the manager to combine 2 tables that can only seat 4 people. So in the end this is our dining experience in Akco Lounge: 1.) Waited for 20 minutes with a reservation 2.) Unapologetic manager/bad service 3.) Pricey and average food Recommendation: Will not recommend this restaurant to others and definitely not come back! Also don’t be fooled by their attractive décor from the outside coz their food and service SUCKS!!! |

Good food, don't go at lunch
Reviewed by Wade on 14-2-2008 (Toronto) |
| The food was excellent. I had the spicy tuna handroll and sashimi, my wife had the rainbow roll. If you're looking for really good sushi, this is a great place. However... Do not go at lunch if you're in a rush. We went at 12:30 (I know, what did I expect?). However for Sushi, it tool 40 minutes to arrive after ordering. I mean it's sushi for crying out loud. Still it was excellent sushi, and we'd go again if it was open on weekends, but it's not. |

Best Food in the business district
Reviewed by David on 1-4-2008 (Toronto) |
| I 've been a regular at Akco Lounge for over a year. Excellent daily specials and daily soups when you want something different than my usual sushi combo with their oroya sushi wine. If you want great service become a regular, great food, great new decor with good looking waitress serving you, this is the place to be. |

Expensive but average sushi
Reviewed by Megan on 3-4-2008 (Toronto) |
| There's nothing special about this restaurant at all. Prices in the menu are higher than other Japanes/Korean restaurant in downtown Toronto and you can get a better tasting sushi elsewhere. |
